About
Derrick was born in Macon, Georgia, and commenced his formal ballet training with Jane Madison at the Madison Studio of Dance Education. Subsequently, he pursued his studies at Festival Ballet Company in south Atlanta, where he collaborated with esteemed choreographers Gregory Aaron, Nicholas Pacaña, and Jocelyn Buchanan. During his tenure, Derrick performed renowned ballets such as The Nutcracker, Cinderella, and Swan Lake. Beyond ballet, Derrick has showcased his talents in musical theater productions throughout the metro Atlanta and middle Georgia regions. His repertoire includes Jesus Christ Superstar, Dreamgirls, 9to5, and Hairspray. Additionally, Derrick has participated in music revues, theme park performances, and as a Playlist Performer for Carnival Cruise Lines.
